I experimented with a different approach for this artwork, aiming to maintain the layered design while incorporating a marquetry effect, all within a minimal color palette. The layers are finished in satin black, with gold leaf highlighting the edges. The flower petals, stained in rich red and mahogany tones, bring out the natural wood grain, while gold leaf at the center of each flower adds a striking contrast. Crafted from seven layers of 3mm poplar plywood, this piece invites viewers to come closer and explore the intricate details and depth within the design.
As it should be noted that as an artist proof, the colour and finish may vary from the image displayed and there may be minor defects and the back may not be finished.
